The Wescoe Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis
Wescoe Walk will be on October 26, 2019
SAVE THE DATE!
Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 9.29 am at Upper Saucon Township Park. Help us raise awareness for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis!
WE DID IT! Wescoe Walk weathered the storm, just like the pulmonary fibrosis community does everyday!
This past Saturday, October 27, we experienced a heartfelt morning of friendship (old and new), a lot of laughter, fun, and raising awareness for pulmonary fibrosis.
The rain came down, it was chilly but I know that everyone under that pavilion understood the need to educate and raise awareness for this serious lung disease. I saw smiling and shivering faces all morning…it didn’t stop us for walking for the pulmonary fibrosis community! I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such dedicated friends, family and the pulmonary fibrosis community and work force!
THANK YOU to Drs. Bratis and Corwin for educating folks about IPF, Frank and Deb Pross telling their story living with IPF and having a lung transplant, Kathy and Jim Patrick and their wonderful family. We are SO grateful for you.
Our exhibits, St. Luke’s Pulmonary Associates, Gift of Life, Genentech, Get In Touch Massage (Mary Fitzgerald), Boehringer Ingelheim, SLHS Cheerleaders and SLMS National Junior Honor Society, and our friends from 99.9 FM “The Hawk” were all present to talk about IPF, organ donation, IPF and cheer on our walkers!
Our basket raffle was robust with over 40+ baskets! Thank you to everyone who participated..it was so much fun!
I do have to tell you, as I write this post, 14 years ago today at 10.06 am, we lost my Dad, Ron Wescoe, to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). It is bitter sweet to write this and will continue our strong mission forward to provide support, education and advocacy for patients and their families living with IPF. There’s no other way and there’s so much more work to be done. 💙💚
Learn about IPF. Talk about IPF. Raise awareness for IPF.
